It made me a little nauseous.
Well, gee. What a erudite and constructive critique!
Karen, don’t blame you for being annoyed. An idiotic review. No. Not even a review, a snipe. Unfortunately it happens all the time. It seems clear that there are idiots in the ‘net sphere who are desperate for attention. At least this wasn’t on amazon. I just got a 3-star review from someone I had met on LinkedIn, asked if he would review “my latest book.”
At the time, months ago, this was Diva, 2nd in my Frank Renzi mystery series (I’ve since published the 3rd). He said he was busy, but the book sounded intriguing so he’d get to it eventually. Note that at no time did he ever state that if a book is in a series, his policy is to start with the first book in the series. Also, I did NOT send him the print copy, which is clearly labeled in the review: DIVA-edition2: A Frank Renzi Novel (Volume 2) (Paperback)
In the review he goes on about his “policy” then has nothing good to say about the book. 3-stars Music, Murder, Lust in the Big Easy. Most recent review: http://www.amazon.com/DIVA-Frank-Renzi-novel-ebook/dp/B0056ASYCU
Interesting part: if you click on See all my reviews … there are fourteen 3-star reviews in a row, then one 4-star … and I stopped after that. He purports to be an “editor” but has never been employed so far as I can by any publishing entity.
Any thoughts on whether I should respond to him (via email on linkin, NOT on amazon)?
