Nancy Kay (Baar) Jones, born in Grand Rapids, MI lost her battle with kidney and heart disease on April 27, 2013. She passed away at her home in Cosby, TN while in the care of her long-time friends, Arlene and Gene Rosemeyer.
The second child of three to the late Edward and Catherine (Davis) Baar, Nancy chose to remain close to her family and moved to Florida in 1970 where she lived for nearly 3 decades. She worked for many years as a registered nurse and enjoyed nearly all kinds of crafts. Known for her talent at knitting and crocheting, many of her works will pass down through generations of families. She was also an ardent fan of genealogy, and with the help of her daughter, recently discovered a [very] distant relationship to the author Laura Ingalls Wilder.
She was the widow of George H. Jones of Gary, IN. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Karen L. (Jones) and Moghis Syed of Orlando, FL, her youngest sister and brother-in-law, Norma J. (Baar) and Charles Butcher Sr. of Bradenton, FL, and her oldest sister Susan Baar of Taunton, MA.
There will be no formal services held and at her request, Ms. Jones will be cremated. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to either the American Heart Association or the American Kidney Fund in her honor.
