Allusions: European Ecstasy
International tales of a sensual nature
Volume I

What happens when the maiden finds her prince in the woods in the story of “Diamonds and Toads”? Could a beautiful girl fall for “Bearskin”?  What happened when the scholar and the princess met in “The Spirit of the Buried Man”?

Europe has a rich tapestry of folk and fairy tales that stretch well beyond the ones made into animated movies. We want to capture the richness of story telling but with an erotic twist. So bring us your obscure tales that are anchored in the cultures of Europe, and make them sensual, seductive, and sexy.

Echelon Press will print an anthology composed of six submissions. Additional submissions may be selected for publication as eBooks for sale on our website. Authors will be paid royalties on the sales of their books, for both print and ebook.

Submission guidelines:

  • Well-developed plots and believable characters are essential. Settings and locations should be geographically and ecologically accurate.
  • Research your lore carefully. While we encourage you to take liberty with the story, we want to be able to recognize the original tale as your plot emerges. You can choose stories from any European country, but we prefer the unique (please, no Cinderella, Snow White, etc.).
  • We welcome the use of magic in your story. All sexual acts, however, need to take place in human form. Bestiality is unacceptable (and make sure your characters are adults, too!).
  • No reissues or reprints. All stories must be original.
  • Word count should fall between 10,000 – 15,000 words.
  • Submissions are due no later than October 1, 2009. Decisions regarding the submissions will be announced by December 1, 2009.
